The structures are among the largest in Europe: LNG tanks with a capacity of 190,000 m3, a 5-km pipeline transporting hot water from Gravelines to the terminal, and a jetty capable of housing the giant Q-Max methane storage tanks with a capacity of 266,000 m3 (currently the largest in the world).
Project planning was organized along the same lines as the approach successfully employed for the GATE terminal in Rotterdam, also executed in partnership with the Spanish company Sener.
The facilities lie in a strategic location for Europe, in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France, just 10 km from the Belgian frontier.
